The Team
Derek Lucie-Smith
Derek Lucie-Smith is a Chartered Accountant. He was appointed to the board in October 2008 as CEO.
Derek has spent over 30 years in the property industry. He has a vast experience of the commercial property market and running quoted companies in the UK.
John Lorimer
John Lorimer (Property Director) was appointed on 9 October 2008.
John has been working in the property industry for over 25 years within both the commercial and residential sectors. He is a founder director of Parkwood Asset Management Limited.
He is also a partner of Parkwood Property Investments LLP who is the holder of 27.25% of the issued share capital of the Company.
Brian Hallett
Brian Hallett is a Chartered Accountant who was appointed to the board in 1996. He presently acts as both Finance Director and Company Secretary. He has considerable experience in reviewing investment proposals and dealing with all matters relating to smaller companies, including the various procedures required to bring such companies to one of the junior stock markets.
Tony Ebel
Tony is presently Chairman of the Company. He originally qualified as a lawyer and chartered accountant and has been a non-executive director of the Company since 1976. He has been responsible for a number of successful technology based start-up companies and is currently involved with companies operating in the management services, sports information and marketing technology sectors.
He was, until recently, chairman of Hallin Marine Subsea International plc. A significant part of Mr Ebel’s role has been, and continues to be, the evaluation of potential investments. He is currently a member of both the Audit and Remuneration Committees.
Mrs Rosemary Chopin-John
Mrs Rosemary Chopin-John, LL.M, F.C.I.S. Rosemary was appointed a non-executive director on 9 October 2008.
Rosemary has a long association with Gresham House plc having been company secretary for over 24 years before leaving to pursue other interests in 1991.
Since January 1981 she been a trustee of the Rowe Trust which historically held up to 44% of the company’s issued share capital before selling the majority to Parkwood Property Investments LLP. The Rowe Trust presently holds 12% of the issued shares in the Company. She is currently in-house legal adviser to a private group of companies and a member of both the Audit and Remuneration Committees
Richard Chadwick
Richard is a chartered accountant, who was appointed to the Board on 17 June 2008 as a non-executive director.
Richard spent 27 years within the J Sainsbury plc group of companies where he had considerable experience of property development and financing, having been director of corporate finance and of business development, and a non-executive director of the group’s property development company. He is also a non-executive director of SpaceandPeople plc. He is presently chairman of both the Audit and Remuneration Committees.
